Maria Eduarda de Lemos Godinho

Maria Eduarda Godinho is the founding partner of LGA Law, acting in Corporate Law, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, project finance, Commercial and Company Law, Telecommunications, Banking and Finance, Real-Estate and Energy.

In Chambers Global, Portugal, Maria was said to create a“(…) good impression among peers who believe she was “easy to work with”. In another edition, Maria is described as “incredibly sharp and can be quite aggressive”, one satisfied client remarked. Chambers also saliented how Maria has consistently attracted praise for her “personable and client-oriented approach”.

In terms of professional relevance, Eduarda was considered one of the 43 most promising lawyers in the Portuguese legal circle by the Jornal de Negócios. She has also been included in Projects and Finance Sector, of the European Legal 500.


Eduarda graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Eduarda completed her LLM in European Law at the College of Europe, in Bruges, Belgium.

Eduarda is the founding partner of LGA Law, having previously been the Senior Coordinating Associate, of the law firm Miranda, Principal Associate with Uria Menendez – Proença de Carvalho, and Senior Associate at Vasconcelos, Fontes Sá Carneiro & Associados.

In Chambers Europe, Portugal, Maria is classified as “up and coming”, in the area of Corporate / M&A, having been described as having “(…) a fine reputation in the corporate arena (…)”.

Admitted to the Bar Association since 1995, she is also the author of several published works and articles in the field of commercial and corporate, law. She regularly participates as a speaker at conferences related to her areas of practice and has lectured at university for more than 7 years.

Eduarda Godinho is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Italian.
